Requirements:
UNIX Systems Administrator : Need to have expertise in
the following systems: Solaris , Red Hat Linux ,
NetApps filer , Apache web server and Samba servers.
Needs to support the acquisition, installation,
maintenance, and administration of UNIX server
environment. The UNIX System Managers specialize in
hardware and operating system support, account and
permission management, performance management and
tuning of the server platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide equipment and OS support for Solaris and Red
Hat Linux systems. Set up peripherals, disk
configuration and usage, filer connectivity and
network interconnectivity. Administer account NIS and
NIS+ domains and manage system security and
performance. Provide 24x7 on-call support for
systems. Maintain systems with current OS, software
and firmware patches and upgrades. Work closely with
IS and other system administrators to provide
interoperability of systems. Maintain standards of
operations such as backups, naming standards,
configurations and also documentation.
Technical experience: System maintenance, Hardware
configuration, installation and maintenance, Tune
systems for optimum performance and capacity
utilization, Troubleshoot, resolve and communicate
operating problems as they occur, Patch management and
system updates, Regular reviews of system logs, O.S.
and supporting software installation, firmware
updates, RAID set construction, Backup configuration
and monitoring, Monitoring Tools, BMC patrol agents
installs, Publish performance metrics and provide
interpretation to customers, System Security and
Access, Knowledge of all account domains and support
of account maintenance tools, File system permissions,
Login scripts and user profiles.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related
field or equivalent. Must have 3 to 5 years in UNIX
and Linux environment.
Other Essential Attributes:
- Analytical, self-motivated and strong sense of
responsibility, organized, attention to details team
player
- Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision
- Ability to communicate with all levels of users
- Good command of spoken English
Location : Singapore
Duration : 6 months contract with possibility of
converting to perm staff.
Nationality : All
Position : 1
Salary : negotiable
