Under Service Contract between Muslim Aid - International Organization for Migration (IOM) Yogyakarta to provide a high qualification Technical Support Staff to IOM Yogyakarta, Muslim Aid Yogyakarta is currently looking for a qualified and committed candidate to fill the following position:
Position title : Market Access Consultant
Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Gross Salary : Rp. 4,700,000
Type of Contract: 5 months (with one month probation)
General Functions:
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the
1. Provide analysis and recommendation on the market segmentation for the assisted sectors : the MAC will conduct assessment on the assisted sectors which cover identification of pricing, product capacity & quality and based on that provide follow up recommendations
2. Provide technical assistance in product improvement : the consultant will provide expertise in product improvements to enter wider market by facilitating series of capacity building in regards to product improvement in particularly for the sectors of craft, batik, lurik, organic farming and food processing
3. Provide support to the Village Promotion Team ; in the VPT network meetings and events, the consultant will facilitate the discussions and summarize the results to be follow up by IOM Marketing & Promotion Taskforce (IMPROTA)
4. Develop buyers and costumers communities: in coordination with IMPROTA , the consultant facilitated product promotion between events and gathering conducted regionally and nation wide.
5. Develop marketing strategy for the assisted showroom and IOM's store for the MSEs (Mahoni Store) : the consultant will provide support in the development of MSE-based store or showrooms and provide marketing strategies for these activities to be used as the marketing tools for the MSEs products being assisted
6. Develop effective business network for MSEs outside and inside their group: the consultant will assist to create network of partners, suppliers, private business, or government institution which can support the progress of MSE business especially after IOM intervention completed
Desirable Qualifications:
· University degree in economic and marketing studies, development studies or other social sciences field, or, alternatively, a combination of relevant education and experience.
· Expertise and knowledge in craft business, food processing
· Experiences of business development and marketing is required.
· Technical expertise and knowledge of small enterprise development in particular in the sector of crafts, textiles, agriculture and food processing is desirable.
· Demonstrated experience as a trainer and facilitator in the field of business development.
· Strong coordination skills and ability to work effectively with implementing partners.
· Demonstrated networking skills.
· At least two years experience in a mid-level management position.
· Experience in international non-government organizations advantageous.
· Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and a good level of computer literacy.
· Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking.
· Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background.
· Able to work during weekends and overtime, when required.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, with thorough knowledge of English.
